We have a full-time staff, a team of AmeriCorps members, tree amigos, and volunteers which make Our City Forest a thriving organization to support out local community and ecosystem!

 

Staff Positions

Deputy Director

Full-time - 40 hrs/wk

The position will oversee field-related operations carried out by 4 staff program managers and 25 full-time AmeriCorps service members. Programs and operations under the purview of the Deputy will include project development and contracting, planting and maintenance operations, tree evaluations/inventory programs, and the full-scale community tree nursery.

Director of Marketing & Communications

Part-time - 20 hrs/wk

The position will collaborate with the CEO to develop and implement marketing strategies, print/publication and online material, public policy, news releases, donation outreach, and manage/coordinate program information and people involved with these strategies.

AmeriCorps Program Positions

Our City Forest is looking for individuals with:

Interest in affecting change through community organizing
Ability to work well with diverse groups of people
Tree planting, care and ID
Filemaker Pro and Adobe Creative Suite proficient
Web design, photo and video skills
Outreach and education experience
Bilingual in Spanish or Vietnamese
Volunteer recruitment and management experience
Social media experience
Excellent customer service skills

(these are unpaid positions):

  • Translation: Must speak & write fluently; preferably Spanish, Vietnamese or Chinese BUT all others welcome & encouraged.

  • Tree Inventory Intern (seasonal): Ability to use and read maps; some species identification knowledge (some training will be provided); internship requires much standing & walking in summer weather, using a GPS handheld device.

  • Watering Assitance (seasonal): Some training & 1-month commitment required; lifting, pulling and physical exertion outdoors in warm weather; see OCF Calendar for watering events.
